This is the first outing of Lasse Steen on the German based label Acid Assault and in my opinion the best one on the label. The 2 tracks on the A side are not really special though, typical programming of hihats with an absurd amount of overdrive/distortion and the unavoidable spooky hard trance elements witch Lasse Steen includes in most of his tracks. One track is less distorted than usual, it has got clean tr-909 drums witch makes this track better mixable, halfway a beautiful string comes crawling in that keeps evolving until the end of the track, it almost sounds like Lasse Steen wanted to make something emotional. But what makes this record differ is the track 'Foxy Machinery' i think he created some unique industrial like atmosphere i have yet to hear in any of his other tracks. The structure of the track is what appeals me the most, it starts of with a nice rolling kick combined with all sorts of squeaky noises, there are even different drum patterns used throughout the track, halfway the (second) tb-303 bursts in that resonates until it nearly starts to sing by itself, this all is quit neatly done and makes me a proud owner of this release.
yes this is awesome piece of plastic, from the first solid tune with Choose's distinctive doublekick that will bring 'em down to knees if other tracks aren't strong enough. to the final piece - capable of what may be called as 'chills down the spine' and the neglected breaks in between. don't let the melodic side fool you, this is total opposite to the 'cheese' in any of its kindif 0nly 1 had the release)
